Derek tensed, unable to look at Seth for the moment. “I…I broke my promise.” he said, his voice betraying him and breaking even as he tried to keep it even. “I swore I would never hurt you. And I could have killed you. I should have known it was you even with the drugs they’d given me.” His legs lifted so he could wrap his arms around him. “I’m so sorry, Seth. I never wanted to force this on you.” He felt like he was breaking inside, that once forgotten thoughhtabout being cursed coming right back with a force so strong it made his chest feel heavy and it was hard to breathe. “I don’t blame you if you hate me. I can’t blame you for it. But…” But I still love you even if I’m a monster. he finished in his mind, hiding his face to try and wipe away the tears.
“Are you fucking serious right now, dude? You should have known it was me?! Are the drugs still fucking with you?” He asked, stepping closer. “Derek there was no way you could have known. I don’t hate you.” Seth whispered, brows scrunching up in disgust at the thought of hating Derek. “You didn’t kill me, though. And even if you had, I wouldn’t have hated you. I know how drugs can affect your way of thinking. I know first hand what it can do to you and I know that had you been in your right mind, none of this would have happened. I love you.” Even though it was obvious how scared Seth was, he made his way even closer to Derek, allowing himself to sit beside him and nuzzled into his side. “And you can’t go around feeling bad about any of this because the others are great, but I need you to help me through all this.”
The human in Derek wanted to flinch as Seth snared him, but the wolf wanted to coddle and scent an apologize. He slowly released his legs, moving to carefully lay a hand on Seth’s leg. “I love you, too.” He answered quietly. He was still for a moment before opening his arms. “Can I hold you?” He asked, trying so hard not to panic at thw thought of Seth telling him no. Derek hated himself right now more than he ever had in his life, and yet he wanted to curl Seth in his arms and just hold him until Seth healed, which was coming along quickly and that only meant one thing.
Seth would turn on the next full moon.
“Its okay if you don’t trust me, I just…I want you to know you’re safe with me, no matter what happened. I would do anything to keep you safe. Absolutely anything.”
