Clary hummed as she leaned back against him. His fingers in her hair feltso good and she never wanted him to stop. “I wash it every day,” she commented. “Well, almost every day. Sometimes we’re so busy that I can’t wash it. And the conditioner helps with the softening. If I didn’t use it, it’d probably be all frizzy and not at all easy for you to run your fingers through.” She wondered if she could ask him to do this more often, so she did. “You should do that more often. It feels nice. Nicer than a head massage. Well, almost nicer than that. I should give you a head massage after this.” Clary didn’t realize that she was rambling, but she was tired and sometimes she rambled when she was tired. Speaking of tired, Clary let out a yawn and snuggled more against him. “If I fall asleep, I’m sorry, but it’s been a long day and your hands in my hair is doing things to me.”

Jace gave a soft smile as he listened to Clary ramble on. He laughed softly and leaned over to kiss her. “I don’t mind if you fall asleep. I can adjust you so we can sleep.” he assured. “We had a long day, and honestly, I think all of us have earned at least a few days of vacation.” He mused, thinking about all the hell they’d gone through with Simon losing his memories and finally killing Jonathan. “So we can totally sleep in a day or two. It won’t kill us.”

anyway jeff bezos could eradicate homelessness. he could literally give each homeless person 100k and it would only take less than .5% of his entire wealth. what the actual god giving fuck

Why do you think they deserve it

Well shelter is a basic need, and would at the very least allow them a place where they can get back on their feet. Food water and shelter are necessary for a healthy body and psychology. There’s also the fact that they’re people too, and a little help goes a long way in making a decent community. There’s plenty of reasons

Yeah they need stuff, but why does every homeless person deserve 0.5% of someone’s income

You have five hundred apples, and just one day to eat them all.

You pass by a small crowd of hungry children, and decide you’d rather 455 apples go rotten than give them to some snotty brat who isn’t your problem.

It doesn’t matter how hard you’ve worked for your 500 apples, or that you aren’t the parent of any of those kids. in the moment you decide to walk away, it doesn’t matter why they’re hungry, or who owes who what.

You had the opportunity to help people, you had the ability to help people, you had the resources to help people. You had everything you needed to make a small, tiny little difference in someone’s life, and you decided not to.

What are you going to buy in your lifetime that’s worth more to you than your own humanity?

“Tea,” he answered softly. “If I drink coffee now, I’m not getting back to sleep tonight.” He sighed into that kiss against his temple and he turned, eyes following Tony intently as the other moved around the kitchen. “I’m sorry I woke you.”

Tony nodded and went to work making them both some tea. He shook his head at Steve’s words. “Never be sorry for your PTSD, Steve.” Tony replied, reaching to lace his hand with one of Steve’s still chilled hands. “It’s not your fault. I don’t expect you to be a-okay all the time.” he replied, finishing the tea and going to sit beside Steve, setting his husband’s cup down and leaning to rest his head on Steve’s shoulder. “I’m never going to need an apology for me getting to take care of you.” he said, taking a sip and holding his mug in front of him as it rested on the counter. “I love you.”

you go, you beautiful person. you fuckin go.

YES FUCK YES

No ok but I actually met him. Several of my colleagues and students were hired to do some assessments for several manmade and natural ponds on his property. He wanted to maintain them with several different fish populations so that kids nearby could fish and have a good time.

While we were working he rode up in his four wheeler with a terrified look on his face. I never thought I would see a former football player on the verge of tears, but boy howdy he nearly was. Several of us stop what we were doing and go over to see what was up.

“I was running the tractor through the field and almost hit a fawn.” He says.

Now, for reference, it’s pretty common to have farmers run over and kill fawns. The defense mechanism of fawns when they are young is to lay down low and not move…which obviously isn’t great for when there’s a tractor. It happens all the time, but it can be pretty bloody. It’s not a pretty sight.

So, thinking that maybe such a gory scene unnerved him and that we may have to dispose of the body, I say “Mr. Brown, is the fawn still alive?”

He says “Yes, I took it to the barn…but I’m afraid the mom won’t take it back because it has human scent on it.”

The myth about “human scent” is a common one, but it’s just that…a myth. But still, this guy was absolutely terrified that this little deer was going to live the first few weeks of its life without a parent. He was distraught.

Luckily my professor/boss was like “Don’t worry Mr. Brown, if you return the fawn relatively close to the spot that you found it, the mother will come back. The human scent thing is just a myth. The fawn will be alright, just be sure to keep the barn quiet so that the fawn doesn’t panic.”

Mr. Brown’s face lit up and he let out a sigh of relief. “Thank God” he said “I was so worried.”

And that’s the story of how I met the sweetest man ever: Mr. Jason Brown.

fyi Jason Brown is still the cutest

I can’t believe this is a real story, but it’s a real story.

What an absolutely lovely human being ❤
