Actually this is a very common idea among feminists
It’s something feminists have been talking about for years it’s called toxic masculinity and it’s one of the common threads among the topic of ‘Patriarchy hurts men too’. If fact the first time I read about toxic masculinity was on a feminist blog.

But I was like……wait I remember something similar to that with Steve and Tony. It’s one of my favorite angst tropes that you introduced me to because damn I’m just a masochist aren’t I? The whole “don’t look at me like that” trope is just heartbreaking in the right way (wow that sounds weird) so I went snooping (instead of doing class work, oh well) and I re read one of the first fics that I came across when I found your account. so like, @et-in-arkadia, @raven-brings-light, and I all recently found out we have been, independently of each other, coming up with and writing out thorloki fics with similar plot lines and story arcs, even minute fucking character moments, because we share, between the three of us, the same two brain cells
