“So you’re the one I’m supposed to marry.” Ana said, crossing her arms. The Clave had officially pissed her off, but she was going to make the best of her situation. “I’m Anabel. Most people call me Ana. By now I’m guessing you realize who my fathers are.” (Have an arranged marriage thing cuz why tf not? đź’ž)

sttormsofnight:

“Supposed to. Doesn’t mean we have to.” Seth corrected before nodding as he looked her over. “Y-Yeah. I know them.” He still thought this was anything but a good idea. Though he truly believed people should have a choice in who they married – but unfortunately most people hadn’t gotten with the times yet and still chose to enforce arranged marriages.

“We don’t have to, but my brother and I don’t have much choice. I marry you or we end up in the Silent City. Clave doesn’t really like hybrids.” The half warlock sighed and moved to sit on the couch, running her hand through her hair. “Dad says you’re a good guy, though. So if he’s willing to trust you, I’ll trust you. But you have to trust me, too. Deal?”

A Message to my Followers who are going to be impacted by Hurricane Florence.

This hurricane is dangerous.

Please, take it seriously.

It is not just a thunderstorm.

Take it from someone who went through Katrina and saw the damage a hurricane can do when it sits and builds.

It changes entire landscapes.

It kills.

Get gas now. The gas stations will begin to either run out, or put a limit to how much gas you can get. Get it now while you can, because I remember distinctly the way the abandoned cars looked on the highway while we were evacuating.

Once that storm hits, the gas stations will shut down. There will be no gas for a week, at least.

You will be stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. Make sure your car is in good working order. The amount of cars left behind on the highway is astounding.

Bring your pets in case of flooding, don’t leave them behind or in a shelter.

Take a picture of every single thing in your house the way it is. Ever dresser. Everything. If it floods, this will help with the insurance.

Power will be out for a week, possibly more. Take anything that will spoil, eat it now/bring it with you/throw it out. You don’t want to come back to a house that is 80°+ inside with spoiled food. It smells disgusting. I know from first hand experience.

Pack as much clothes + whatever else you need as you can. You don’t know what you will be returning to, if anything at all. I hate to say it, but there were so many homes lost in Katrina in mg area to flooding & I didn’t even live in the Soup Bowl.

From what I’ve seen, the outer bands are strengthening. They’re red at this point. This hurricane is getting stronger, and it’s well built. There are no winds to tear it apart. It’s eye is holding together, and that’s terrifying. A well built storm like this one can ruin lives. It’s not a joke.

Please, please stay safe. Evacuate ASAP if you’re in the direct line.

Don’t wait until it is here. That is how you get killed. Do not evacuate in the middle of it. Don’t wait until last minute.

It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Please stay safe.

Listen to the news. Follow their advice.

Leave while you still can, before the highways get clogged up. Go as far in-land as you can. Leave the state entirely if you have to.

We did. And we still felt the effects of Katrina.

Please, stay safe.

One date, four times and a death toll hard to forget and painful to remember. So many lives lost, and many more since.

Thank you to all those who went to rescue while others evacuated, to those who didn’t get to come home after the towers fell. Thank you to brave people who lost their lives when they took a plane back from terrorists, and to the ones who helped rescue efforts at the pentagon.

We remember you all, and will never forget.

Never Letting Go | inkfated

“Of course I do. I’d keep you here every night if I could.” While Jace knew that she was right, it had been hard to get out of the mindset that loving Clary was wrong. He was only recently learning to accept that it was perfectly okay. Valentine had messed with his mind for so long and he knew that he was going to have to learn to say no to bad thoughts that often sounded like his voice in his head. “I’m sorry that it was ever perceived as wrong. That man should have never twisted or minds like that.” When he heard her speak again, Jace couldn’t help himself as he leaned down and brushed his lips against hers. She brought out such feelings in him that he sometimes didn’t know what to do with.

“Neither will I. You were and are the best thing that has ever happened to me.” He chuckled and said, “You’re welcome to take it to your room with you if you’d like.” He was looking forward to the idea of Clary wearing around one of his shirts. Jace leaned into her touch and resisted the urge to close her eyes. Being around her felt so good and he knew that none of this could ever be wrong. “Of course I will. Though Maryse might have something to say about that once she notices.” He nudged his nose against hers before he stepped back and took her hand. “You’d be surprised, but I’ve not really invited anyone into my own bed. So you’re like a first.” He was often at other places when he’d been with other people, but he wanted to do this differently with Clary. He wanted to treat her right. Jace shrugged out of his shirt once he’d let go of her hand. “See something you like?” He teased as he glanced over at her. Jace flung the shirt over an armchair and then flopped down on his bed. “Come on. There’s plenty of room,” he said as he patted the empty side of the bed.

“I certainly won’t complain.” Clary gave him a smile, tucking some hair behind her ear. The words made her want to bring back her father and kill again on principle. “He only cared about himself. I don’t care what he said, he never really cared about me, or anyone.” she answered. “He was scared of how powerful we’d be together, and we beat him anyway.” A quiet little hum vibrated through her as he kissed her, relaxing because he was very real and she couldn’t be happier.

His words made her heart flutter a little and she knew she was blushing. “Yeah? You won’t miss it?” she teased, reaching up to slide slender fingers through golden hair. She rolled her eyes. “Well, if she has a problem with it, I guess we’ll handle that when it happens.” she assured with a smirk, lacing their fingers and following him to his room. The admission made her blush even more, realizing how serious Jace had to be about them to want to be so honest. She turned to close the door, pausing as she spotted him without his shirt. A little laugh at his tease, moving to his dresser to grab a shirt of his and change. She didn’t know why she was feeling a little more confident, but she kept her back to him as she changed into just his shirt and her boy short style lace panties, moving to crawl into the bed next to him and resting her head on his shoulder. “Pretty sure there’s always room for both of us in your bed, Jace.” she teased, adjusting so she could kiss his cheek.Â
