“Are you really, though?” Luke crouched beside Clary’s seat, gaze full of concern. “Clary, you’ve been missing for months. T-they thought you were dead. How can you possibly just show up perfectly fine after so long?”
Clary tried to keep the memories to herself, and she suddenly understood why Jace trained so often. “I just…I need people to stop asking me questions, Luke.” she replied, but her vision blurred as she watched him. “I don’t know how I got back and I don’t care. I just want people to be happy I’m home.”
I got an anon about Christmas wishlist….so now I have to find my paper with my list of books I haven’t bought from @not-close-to-straight XDDD
“Hey.” Tristan raised an eyebrow at him before laughing softly. “I’m different now. I don’t get like that anymore.” That was a lie. “I’m always in perfect condition. The apartment, ‘owever, needs some work.” Truthfully, it was mostly finished. The only thing left to do was to finish unpacking his things and decorate, but right now, he decided, that could wait. He gestured to an empty spot on the floor for Thor to place the box then glided back towards the door. “So, like I said, your place?”
Thor arched a brow at him curiously. “Oh really now?” He mused, setting the box down and looking around. “You certainly seem well adjusted thus far.” He teased, heading back to the door so he could unlock his own. “I just got back from a job in Romania. Quite lovely.” He mused. “What brings you here?”
“Mmm, but when are you ever, big guy?” Clint mused, lifting his feet up onto the desk and crossing them over one another, “Either way, I think someone needs to figure out the whole “half the population turned to ash” thing, and Steve and Tony are kind of catatonic.”
While he had adjusted to life in the tower before Ultron…coming back had had its ups and downs. He watched Clint for a moment, sighing. “I’m not doing too well right now myself.” Mainly he’d been avoiding Natasha and focusing on trying to understand what it was that had happened, how one snap could devastate the world. And then Hulk was just…refusing to help. “I don’t doubt that. They lost a lot more than I did.” Bruce had been on his own long enough that really, he hadn’t had a lot of time to bond with everyone.
“It’s all right,” Steve answered quietly. “I don’t sleep much without you anyway.” He leaned against Bucky and it was obvious just how exhausted he really was, even if he tried to deny it. “Think you’ll come back to bed again or did you want to just get our day started since we’re both awake now anyway?”
Bucky moved to turn and wrap his arms around Steve. “I’m coming back to bed. I was drinking some chamomile tea.” he explained, kissing his boyfriend’s temple. “Come on, you need sleep, Steve. You’re on the verge of collapse as is.” His Brooklyn came out, knowing Steve really couldn’t resist him when he drawled the right way, tugging Steve closer to him.
