Bedtime | bowstrung

“I won’t get hurt. I’m fine,” Alec argued gently. He had a bad habit of working more than taking care of himself, sure, but he hadn’t gotten hurt. Not yet anyway. Well, that wasn’t counting the time he’d gotten sick and that was something he wasn’t going to mention ever again. Alec grumbled a little as the pen was taken out of his hand. “When did you become such a mother hen?” Alec asked. He sighed once more and stood up. “Alright, worrywart. I’m going to bed. Though if I’m going to bed, you’re going with me.” It had been awhile since they’d shared a bed, but he wasn’t going to complain about it. Alec glanced back at his paperwork once more before he guided the way out of his office and toward his bedroom instead. “How was your patrol? Was there any unusual activity?”

“Maybe not at the moment.” Jace countered, bicolored eyes watching Alec as he urged him out of the chair. “I’m a mother hen where you’re concerned, Alec. Especially after you worked yourself into a bad cold.” he said easily, arching a brow pointedly. HE chuckled, leaning to kiss Alec’s temple. “I have to shower first, but I don’t mind staying in your room tonight.” He kept a safer distance as they walked the halls, knowing the last thing they needed was a Clave probe into their relationship. In public, they were just best friends, but behind closed doors, they were far closer than that. “It was long. But nothing out of the norm. It was quiet tonight.” he answered, stopping at his room to grab a change of clothes before joining Alec in the hall again and expertly hiding his clothes as they finished walking to the bedroom. “I was glad when it was time to come home.”

“And I promise to do my absolute best to come home to you.” It was something Alec actually thought about now. Before it had been mission after mission and doing what he’d been raised to do. Now he felt like he had someone to come home to. He chuckled a little and shrugged before he said, “Yeah well…I’m still a bit new to it all.” It was true. Magnus was his first real relationship, everything else had been daydreams. He nuzzled against Magnus as his arms went more around him to keep him close. “I never would. You’ve been the best thing to happen to me. Thank you for fighting for us. I don’t know what would have happened to me if I hadn’t met you.” Chances are he’d have either married for his family and would have been unhappy or he would have stayed alone and he would be unhappy anyway. Either way he was happier than he ever could be. “You make me so happy. And I hope that you are happy with me too.” He moved enough to kiss Magnus’s cheeks. There were times when he could hardly keep his hands or his mouth to himself. And Magnus had been right earlier when he said that he had a love for romantic thins. Alec had always been a romantic at heart.

It had always been some unconscious resignation that everyone he cared about would leave, be it for death or they got tired of him (just look at the toxicity that had been his relationship with a certain blonde vampire). Something when it came to Alec was soul deep, just the thought of Alec not coming home made Magnus ache on a level he’d never known could hurt. He looked up as he listened and chuckled. “You may not have had relationships in the past, Alexander, but you had your own demons to carry.” he replied, reaching to run his fingers through dark hair as he sighed under Alec’s kisses. “Of course I fought for us. But I fought for you first.” he answered. “I loved you the moment I saw you, but I know the majority of shadowhunters frown upon cross species, and to add on that we’re both men? I didn’t want you to be trapped into some sense of loyalty and I’m glad you made the choice to ask me on that first date.” he smiled, closing his eyes. “Would you like to shower?”

Alec nodded in agreement. The last few days really had been rough, so being here with Jace was nice. Better than nice, it was amazing. He felt relaxed already. “On top of me,” Alec breathed out as he moved to lay down instead. “All over m-me,” he stuttered out as he lifted his hips. Jace’s touch was teasing and he had a feeling that the blonde knew it. “Fuck, Jace. I need you.” And he was never really this vocal, but it had been a long time since they’d had each other. He rested his hands at Jace’s hips as he said, “Please don’t hold back tonight. I want whatever you’re able to give. And I hope you let me help you along too.”

Blonde bangs fell into his face as he sat up better, moving to straddle over his over before leaning in to kiss him. “I need you too, Alec. Always. Until my last breath.” It was words that anyone would misinterpret as just their parabatai bond, but both of them knew it was so much deeper. He tilted his head, kissing along Alec’s jawline and to his neck. “Are you sure, baby? I left a few bruises last time I went wild.”

Camera Flash | bowstrung

“My…mother kind of took a lot of pictures of me growing up. So being in front of a camera is easy for me,” Alec replied with a small bashful smile. His mother had taken a lot of photos of her children, but he knew that as her first, she probably had a bit too many of him in scrapbooks around the manor. “Thank you, though. I’m glad that you like my work.” And maybe, if he was lucky, this shoot would lead to something more. Alec wanted to act, but he hadn’t found the right film or show yet. Alec nodded and smiled, pleased that his sister had done so well. “She’s always been like that. People flock to her without her even having to try, though trust me when I say she tries. She’ll have you charmed in no time at all.” Alec had always been a bit protective of his sister too, but he trusted her to do what she knew she needed to do.

Venice. He was looking forward to going from place to place on a boat. Maybe he’d stay a day or so longer after the shoot just to enjoy the area. Alec chuckled and replied, “Perhaps you should give them some incentive to use a better background. Though I suppose they think the plain ones look nice in their catalog’s.” He stood and followed after the man, eager to see what he would wear. Alec didn’t entirely have the best fashion himself, but he could dress nicely when he put his mind to it and when he’d started this career, he’d gotten a lot better at it. “Woah,” Alec said as he walked toward the rack of clothes. “This is more than any of my other shoots had.” His fingers trailed over a dark, black leather jacket that was just his style. Jace would be so jealous if he brought this home. “Did my sister tell you I like leather?” He asked as he turned to look at him. He wouldn’t be surprised if she had. “Okay, let’s get started then. Where’s your changing room?” He didn’t pull anything off the rack, though he was tempted to take the jacket now. He saw a nice shirt that would go well with it too, it had a little more frills than he would’ve liked, but it would blend well. Despite all that was in front of him, he could already imagine taking an outfit home, maybe two if Magnus let him buy the second one off of him.

Magnus listened to the other, nodding as his lips curved upwards. “Well, having an early start has definitely come as an advantage.” he assured. The work Alec had done was marvelous, and pictures did no justice to the full beauty of the younger man. He looked up as Alec talked about his sister and he nodded. “She really looks up to you. You’ll be the first siblings I’ve ever used for my personal line.” he explained with a smile. “Well, as charming as she is, I’m sure you’re just as wonderfully charming.” It was a subtle attempt at flirting, because Magnus had a serious weakness for the dark hair and blue eyes combination but he really wanted Alec for this shoot in particular.

Magnus shrugged. “They see what I’m capable of, but they want to line to stand out more on the promotion posters. Which is foolish, but let the cooperate idiots remain blind to true vision.” He let Alec look around, giving a little shrug of one shoulder. “This particular line I wanted to have something more people could afford, my line has become immensely popular in the last two years.” He replied, as Alec looked through the rack, smiling as – just as he’d been told to expect – Alec fell in love with the leather jacket. “She did. She has a slight taste for it herself. She took the women’s leather mini jacket with hardly a glance and built the outfit to go with it.” he chuckled. He motioned to the area curtained off by tall black curtains. “There’s a three way mirror, let me know when your done and we’ll see if anything needs to be changed.”
