“Hmmm…you’re adorable. I like you.” The blonde hummed. “I think we should do this date night in more often. Especially with the wine. Wine is invited. Always.”

Stiles laughed a little as he sipped his wine again. They’d been hanging out the whole semester and and nothing had made him uneasy. The midterms were done a d they’d passed and he’d offer to celebrate by staying in, eating pizza, drinking soda and wine and playing video games and watching tv. “Is it a date night?” He asked, grinning. “Cuz I like that. You’re cool and funny and you get me.” He slurred, leaning back into the couch.

“Huh, sounds like a challenge.” It felt like a moment where Eloise wished she had a drumstick, so, she could put it at him and squint her eyes as if they were about to compete in battle of the bands.

“Psh, I can’t afford anything fancy anything. Just like a burger over at the Melt. Loser can cough up like 3 bucks. I mean, unless you’re chicken.”

Stiles narrowed his eyes at her. “Confident, sounds like fun.” He grinned, playful since she was the first one he’d met that didn’t seem to be put off by his spazzy nature. And she liked video games, so that made it even better. “I’ve never said no to a fun challenge.” he teased with a smile. “Let’s go.”

“Well, great. ‘Cause that’s pretty fucking reassuring. Thanks for the pep talk, you should start thinking of becoming a motivational speaker there.” This wasn’t her thing, this was never her thing.

“You make it sound so easy…well, life ain’t just a winning or losing game.”

The fox gave a soft laugh, shaking his head. “It is when there are vampires coming at you. Or a rogue wolf.” he told his friend, moving to stand beside her. “I can use my magic to my advantage, but it’s harder for a human. You have to be ready to think outside the box.”

The offer was unconventional, which was probably why she liked it so much. “Alright, but I’m just sayin’, I’m gonna kick your ass at Street Fighter II. Loser buys dinner?”

Stiles managed to give her a smile, arching a brow at her. “No way, I spent countless hours and sleepless nights mastering every Street Fighter.” he countered, grinning. “We’re college kids, though, so I can’t go all fancy just yet.” he laughed a little.

“Honestly, I just need a friend or two around here.” Stiles shrugged. “You can join me if you’d like.”

“That makes two of us.” Eloise grinned, shrugging as well. “Sure, why not? What’d you have in mind?”

Stiles looked down, kind of clueless. The whole college things was fine, but most of the people he associated with had big parties and Stiles had kind of sworn off parties after the incident where his friend had been ritually sacrificed. “Maybe we could go the arcade or something?”
