Gwen grinned, dropping down from the wall to land beside him. Everything was so much better between them now they had a shared secret, no more lies about where he was going, and now she could keep up with him. “Ready to own college. I mean, I’m smart and I’m in a band, that totally makes me Queen of the Campus, right?” With a snort to let him know she wasn’t serious about being the top girl in college, she dropped down to sit on his bed. “I kid, but I am super-ready to go to college with my best friend. Have you seen him? He’s usually running around in a spandex onesie and basically looking like a big dork.”
Peter watched her and reached up to run a hand through her hair. “Well, you’ll be Queen of my world, does that count?” he asked, smiling. “I think college will be fun, since we’re in this together. And y’know, my best friend runs around looking like an adorable little ghost dork.” he countered, nudging her arm with his. “Any gigs coming up I need to tag along for?”
Peter rolled his eyes, laughing at the question. “I’m alright. Ready to get college out of the way already.” he mused, closing his current textbook to look at her. “How’re you?”

Peter had been working with the Avengers and the new, Hydra-free SHIELD for close to eight years. For a year or so he’d been in the background, unable to even touch his suit after losing Gwen, but he’d eventually picked up the mantle again because having too much free time made it easier to wallow in the guilt he felt. The tram had welcomed him back with compassion and open arms, helping him get back into the swing of life as an Avenger. He had finally started taking patrols again and after 6 years, he was more comfortable in his abilities, had finally moved passed the heavy grief and was a great photographer for extra money despite getting money for his work with the team.
It was close to the anniversary of Gwen’s death and Peter had definitely had a slow night in terms of bad activity. So when his senses alerted him, he followed them, swooping onto a roof across the street to see three masked men robbing a small bank. “Seriously?” He rolled his eyes, moving to attach a web and swing down.
