Special Christmas || lostshieldandhammer

“You… you made a special request?” He was intrigued. “Should I go change clothes then so we can head over there?”

Tony gave a small smile, shaking his head. “You don’t have to get fancy. But remember Melanie? The little brunette that reminded you of Barnes? The little nine year old?” he asked. Looking for Bucky had taken a toll and even through that Steve insisted on helping the kids. Tony had noticed Steve bonding with the little girl and he enjoyed the way Steve seemed so relaxed around the kids.

“It’s almost Christmastime, Steve.” Tony mused, fiddling with his watch. “Did you still wanna go see the orphans?”

Steve looked up from what he was reading and nodded slowly. “Of course, I do. I wasn’t sure when you’d be ready to go, though. You’ve been pretty busy lately…”

Tony smiled softly. “I made a special request at the orphanage.” he replied. “I wanted it to be a surprise.”

“I’m thinking I want one with pepperoni, bacon, ham, and mushrooms,” he said as he looked at the menu. “And the hot wing chicken pizza with the ranch dressing drizzle on it.”

Clint smiled and nodded, resting his head on Steve’s shoulder. “Sounds like a plan. But don’t expect me to put mushrooms on my half.” he teased, pulling away to go order and get them a couple of drinks. He walked back over and sat down, offering Steve one. “The pain meds are starting to kick in full force. Would you be okay to drive the rest of the way home?” he asked, leaning into Steve.

Stiles nodded slowly and hugged Chris tightly. “Okay,” he answered softly. He let go so they could head out to Chris’ vehicle and head to the Hale estate to meet up with Derek.

When they got there, Derek’s suv was parked in the driveway and the wolf was standing on the front porch. Stiles got out of Chris’ vehicle and ran up the steps, wrapping his arms tightly around Derek and hugging him close. Derek hugged him in return and glanced over at Chris, a sad smile on his face as he did so.

“Thank you both for coming,” he said quietly. “I just needed to go through some things with you both before I left…”

Chris let Stiles go, not liking the way this conversation would end. He didn’t want to go separate ways than Derek, but he couldn’t exactly stop him. He walked up the steps and paused to return the gesture, reaching a hand to rest it on Derek’s shoulder. “Once we pack, we’re headed to France.” he replied. “There’s nothing left for Stiles and I in this town but bad memories and pain.” He knew Derek would understand their reason and he looked around the manor for a moment before reaching for Stiles’ hand. “What did you want to talk to us about?”

A Different Line in Time || lostshieldandhammer

It was noticeably colder in this area of Midgard. It was so much colder that Loki was concerned as to why his exploration of various life would bring him to a place no human could survive. He carefully wandered for a while, his natural ability to handle Asgardian winters coming in handy as he walked, needing a minor spell to keep his hands warm. There were perks to being an adopted son. It seemed odd that just as he was ready to give up, he discovered some kind of wreckage. Green eyes curious, the god approached and startled for a brief flash when he sensed life.

More intrigued than ever, he moved to find the source, hid magic strangely stirred as he sought out one who could survive this kind of weather without magic. Finding his way beneath the surface, he found a hollowed ship, one end filled with thick ice. A downed ship wasn’t uncommon on Asgard, but the feeling that he was so much closer to life now than before brought him closer to the frozen block, green flames appearing around his jand to help him see. A quiet, sharp intake of breath as he realized that the life he sensed was laying underneath the ice and Loki moved to melt the ice away and retrieve the one trapped inside. It took much longer than he intended, but at last, he drew the young man out, brushing his hands over the body to check for any danger, finding it odd that there were none. The man was beautiful in a way Loki hadn’t seen in centuries, and he clearly needed help.

In a split second decision, Loki decided to bring the stranger with him back to his chamber in Asgard. He lifted the other and with his magic, called a way home. As he stepped into the room and Heimdall gave a single nod, Loki teleported himself and the unconscious man to his hall in the palace, laying the man on his daybed where he read, hoping some of the warmth from the sun would break the chill that had settled into the stranger’s body from the ice. He summoned a large, plush blanket to cover the blonde, setting the odd shaped shield nearby and summoning tea. He sipped at the tea as he waited, drawn to the other and curious as to his survival in a place no nan could live.

When Steve began to wake, he was shivering almost violently, as his body fought to rid itself of the water and ice in and around his body. Eventually, the shivering slowed and the blankets around him helped him become warm. He fell into a deeper sleep then and slept for several more hours before slowly waking, eyes opening, as he took in the room around him. He coughed, his voice hoarse and sore as he did so, trying to sit up.

“H-Hello? Where am I?”

Loki did his best to keep the young man warm, blankets and a couple of spells to help ease any discomfort. He had laid in his own bed aceoss the room, napping quietly when the sound of a voice stirred him. He opened his eyes, moving to stand and light one of the lamps for more light as the sun was still down but would rise soon. “You’re on Asgard,” he answered calmly. “I found you in a thick block of ice on Midgard, and brought you home with me.” He explained. “I am Loki. May I inquire your name?”

Steve nodded slowly, setting down the menu. “The ham and cheese omelet with a side of sausage links, hashbrowns with cheese and white toast,” he said quietly. “Thank you…” He swallowed and wrapped his arms around himself loosely.

Peter watched Steve and wished he could comfort him somehow. “Of course, Steve.” he said softl, fighting the urge to purr comfortingly. He didn’t know ow Steve would take it and he’d been through enough as it was. When the waiter came back, he gave Steve’s order perfectly and then his own, politely asking for some more coffee at the end. Once alone again, he reached to sip at his coffee again. “Is there anything I can do to help you relax? Some tea or a jacket?”

“Yes, please,” he answered in a slightly pained voice. “My body’s already objecting to the fact I haven’t eaten much lately so… food would be good right now.” He sat up a bit ad kissed Tony’s cheek before the other brought him a plate of food. He tried not to eat too fast, because that would only make things worse in the long run.

Tony made himself a plate and moved to sit across from Steve so he could watch his husband. “Just take your time. The next few days might be rough while you get used to having your normal intake again. Everything will be okay” he assured. “How are your wounds? Do they still hurt?”

@lostshieldandhammer liked this for a starter from Bucky Barnes

“Can’t sleep either?” Bucky asked as he looked up from his cup of tea, a faint smile on his lips.

Steve slowly shook his head. “Since that last mission, it’s just been hard to sleep,” he admitted quietly, moving to sit beside his lover. “Plus, the bed was cold without you in it with me.”

“Yeah, was a rough one this last time.” Bucky sigbed as he took another sip and shrugged. “I don’t really sleep much as is. I didn’t mean to wake you, though, darlin’.”
