“No, don’t. Just stay. I’m fine, I promise. You’re doing some good there and you need to stay with your people when they need you.” She couldn’t be seen pulling him away from his people. It was indecent, but then, they were the ones who had decided to try this relationship after all. Being with Tara had been a pleasant surprise. If Alec and Magnus could make it work, why couldn’t they? Lydia let out a soft sigh and said, “Okay, but don’t push it too much, okay? It’s not like you’ll be gone for another two weeks.” If he was then she might have really been asking for him to come home. Lydia’s lips curled up into a smile as she said, “I love you too, Tara. You’ve given me a happiness that I never thought that I’d have again.” And she had lot to thank him for too. “I’ll see you whenever you’re allowed home, yeah? When I do, I’m taking you out somewhere you’ll be sure to love.”

The half-warlock smiled at her, wishing he could reach through and hold her. “I promise I’ll be home before you know it.” He assured. “The first thing I’m gonna do as soon as I’m back is kiss you.” He moved to close his door, going to sit on his bed. “Maybe we can get everything done and get back soon. It’d be nice to hold you after so long.” His voice showed how much he missed his girlfriend. He leaned back and looked at the ceiling. “Yeah? You planning on a super romantic reunion dinner?” He inquired with a smile. He hadn’t thought he could find anyone and now he had someone waiting for him to come home.

Five more days. That felt like so long away. She’d stayed behind at the New York Institute even though she could have gone with them. “Are you sure you can’t come home sooner?” She didn’t mean to sound so needy, but they’d already been gone a week. It didn’t feel right without them there. Lydia let out a sigh and said, “Sorry, I just….miss you.” The last part came out as more of a mumble than anything. “You’ll still call me every day, right? I suppose I could always get a portal over. Nothing is really going on here. I should have gone with you in the first place.”

Tara managed a soft laugh. “I can try. Most of what we came for is done, they shouldn’t need me for the last few days. I just need to clear it with the superior here.” he offered. He had once only wanted to go home to his own timeline, but with no way to get back, he had settled into a new place, with a new name to hide who he was. He had found someone to love, and he wanted to be home fairly badly. “I’ll send word if they let me come home, I promise.” he said, smiling. “I love you, Lydia.”
