Didn’t get to do what I wanted for today, so I’m gonna try to queue up a bunch of replies and post a few tonight as well. Work tomorrow from a messed up schedule [gotta love people assuming they can do what they want to it], and then off Saturday and Sunday. If anyone wants anything specific, let me know!

virtuissimo:

i know its real fun to talk shit about texas and to laugh it up about how stupid texans are but can we PLEASE acknowledge that this election made texas purple, and that there have been HUGE efforts to bring out people of color and poor people who have previously been disenfranchised, and that even though beto didnt win this is STILL A REALLY IMPORTANT STEP. especially the latino voting population grew enormously this election cycle. fuck the 71% of white men and 59% of white women who voted for cruz, and i dont wanna come off like im making some kind of “not all texans” argument, but the people of color here r fighting tooth and nail and it sucks that ppl r just unilaterally saying “texans stupid nyeh”

So I didnt have the money to do my laundry at my apartment, so I had to go to my mom’s (which does little for my anxoety given every time I’m here I end up witnessing my sister/attempted murderer’s control through fear and the constant refusal to see anything except her side) and I brought my laptop so I could work on drafts, and when I pulled it out, said sister got an attitude so I just put it up and I’m stuck mobile for at least another two hours so my clothes can all dry and I can go home. I hate that my schedule got all fucked because I was really looking forward to an immediate trnsistion to having Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.

I owe about 11 starters for @whcrcmydcmonshidc and I intend to toss some random open starters and get some replies done. I’m hoping to be home no later than 6:30, but we shall see.

A Chapter Closed

So tonight I finished closing for the last time and closed an absolutely AMAZING chapter of my life. It has been an honor to work for Raising Cane’s and the team of RC’s “Century Club” (the 100th store in Texas). It was a great opportunity to grow as a person, to make some friends and work for a place that cares so much about its employees. To say goodbye brings me to tears, but it has been one awesome ride and even as I move on to better things in the life I have, I will cherish the memories I have made and the fun I had every single day.

Thank you, Raising Cane’s. It’s been a pleasure.

Kallin’s Halloween Adventures (5/?)

So the first story of the night was this pair of brothers dressed as a young Ezio and pikachu. The older brother [Ezio] asked if I was dressed as a pokemon trainer. I told him yes, I was and he looked at his brother and grinned and was lke “She’s gonna catch you!” The little pikachu looked at me wide eyed and then goes “NO SHE WON’T!” and ran away to his mom while his brother laughed and I was just like “Awwwwh”

The next story was the very sleepy twins dressed as Catboy and Gecko. Catboy was mostly okay, but Gecko was crabby. So I asked if he’d smile if he had a lollipop, and he looked at me, smiled and held out his hand. So I gave him his sucker and asked if he wanted to pet pikachu so I walked aroudn the counter so he could pet him and then he hugged me and gave his sucker to his brother to ask for another one. Of course I gave it to him and he was so happy.

My last cute story is about the brother and sister who came in dressed as the pink power ranger and T’Challa. The girl was so excited, chittering about how awesome it was to be a power ranger, and the little boy I couldn’t help but say “Hello, my King” he grinned and LITERALLY gave me the Wakanda salute. I returned it and we both said “Wakanda Forever”. Then when he left, I said bye and he saluted again and his whole family was like “Wakanda Forever!” and we all laughed.
