kind reminder that roleplaying is a hobby . do not apologise for not writing or not being on , this is not an obligation . always take your time , do not pressure yourself . replies don’t have a due date & you don’t owe anything to anyone . as amazing as it feels to see your work being appreciated by your peers , remember you’re doing this for YOU . your own enjoyment , maybe even your escape . bad days are just bad days , they don’t make you a worse writer . everyone has some days where inspiration strikes them & everyone has days where no words seem to sound good . that is okay , don’t torture yourself about it . not everyone is going to like you , that’s just life . keep those who do close & don’t try to change your writing / blog / muse to fit anyone’s criteria of what is ‘ good ’ . take care of yourself .
A friendly reminder that you do not have the right to police what others write on their own blogs. Just because someone is writing a darker or triggering topic does not mean that they condone it in real life / approve of it. It means they wanted to explore a darker side of things, because not everything in life is rainbows and sunshine all the time, so writing shouldn’t have to be either!
If you don’t want to see them / if something triggers you, that’s completely understandable. But, that’s what you unfollow / blacklist / block for. Definitely ask someone to tag something for you if you need it, but… stop trying to tell people what they can and can’t write. Stop sending anonymous hate, stop posting vagues about them, and for the love of god, stop trying to tell them they’re terrible, horrible, unforgivable people simply for wanting to write darker subjects!
Guys, if you reblog my fanfiction, do NOT change the format. I format my stuff so that my blog is the one that shows up when they read my work, and it upsets me because some people don’t bother to look and see if something has been reblogged or not [it is a thing, I promise]. When I reblog fics to recommend to people, I leave their format out of respect for the creator of that fic and their formatting [most of my recs are @not-close-to-straight because if you read one thing she writes, you should read everything she writes].
So please, if you like my stuff enough to reblog it, PLEASE LEAVE THE FORMAT I HAVE DONE.
If you are scrolling through Tumblr trying to distract yourself from something you don’t want to think about, or you’re looking for a sign. It is going to be okay. Just breathe. You are alive and you matter.
i reblog this everytime i see it because i always need it and figure others do toom
