PLEASE DO NOT REBLOG RP POSTS DESIGNATED FOR SOMEONE ELSE!
Yes, there is a difference between open threads and closed/plotted/etc threads. Personally I have tags for my open starters/threads.
Reblogging a post when you aren’t the intended/tagged person throws me off as a writer (this is just me personally, I am in no way speaking for all roleplayers on the site). Liking it is perfectly fine, stalk it even if you enjoy it that much (I stalk several threads myself, so I know thread stalking occurs). Just please refrain from reblogging threads meant for someone else; especially if there is a peraon tagged or even in the title.
I just wanna say never be afraid to reach out to blogs you like. seriously. you are never a bother to that mun – who is going to feel bothered when someone reaches out with kind words and soft hugs? everybody appreciates seeing their ask box light up, and then to find the words ‘i love ur blog omg’ is just enough to make people do those giddy wriggle dances and stuff like ten oreos in their mouths at once. or maybe thats just me. idk. the point is – don’t be afraid lovely, be you. say hi, ask questions, get to know them, rp with them, interact!
worse case scenario: they dont have oreos to stuff in their mouth OR they dont know the giddy wiggle dance, in which case you should direct them to me and i’ll teach them.
REMEMBER KIDS !! some very important relationships are PLATONIC. some are maternal, paternal, friendships, siblingships. they do not all have to revolve around romantic/sexual attraction. please don’t ever think that i wouldn’t write with you if you didn’t want to bring a romantic/sexual ship to the table. I LOVE PLATONIC RELATIONSHIPS. THEY ARE UNDERRATED, UNDER EXPLORED, AND LOOKED PAST WAY TOO OFTEN. THEY CAN BE THE MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP TO A CHARACTER. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE.
When you go through things that seem like they’re going to break you, you can either let them break you, stop right there and let it all overwhelm you, or pick yourself back up, slap a bandage over that bitch and keep right on going.
I chose to keep going.
Survival is the number one reason you can get through things that are bad. If you choose to survive, then you’ll come out all the better for it in the end. As a survivor myself, I applaud Kara and everyone else who has gotten through and become better, stronger and much more awesome than those who tried to bring us down.
Lots of love and support to all my fellow survivors. 💗💛💙💜💚❤
I just got an ask requested to be answered privately about how to deal with a negative comment on a fic and I thought I’d answer it in a post because idk how private answers work with long messages.
(I won’t tag you but you know who you are)
About Negative Commenters on fics::
I’d tell them to fuck off and go write their own story and feel free to block you on their way out the door so they don’t accidentally read any of your fics again.
You don’t need readers like that.
Or you know, less aggressively because maybe you aren’t as big of a bitch as I am, you could just delete the comment and move on.
The problem is, there’s always someone out there that has a personal issue with a specific character. When I was writing Pirates Heart I got hate mail because so many anti-Steve people wanted Bucky and Tony to run away together and leave Steve behind. I get nasty comments about writing Tony as the hero of my stories. I get told my AU’s are super out of character and terrible writing.
Someone will always have shit-all to say about anything, and if you take it personal it will ruin your whole writing experience, but I understand how difficult it is to let those things go.
Delete the comment, and if it was via tumblr, block them. You don’t need readers like that and if that’s how they are going to comment, just block them because they will probably do it again. You don’t have to feel bad about basically booting a negative person out the door, I literally do it at least once a day for various reasons ranging from a shitty comment on my writing to them reblogging something ick.
If it was on AO3, turn on “comment moderation” and “disable anonymous comments” function because then not only do you get to approve/reject comments before anyone else sees them, but then only registered AO3 users can comment on your work anyway
If there’s one thing I’ve learned from writing online, its that everyone is super brave about their comments when they can hide behind anonymous and once they can’t hide behind it anymore, they shut the hell up. Turning off your “anon asks” on Tumblr takes care of alot of bullshit too.
Does this help? Idk if this helps.
I hate people who leave negative comments, they piss me off and are promptly blocked on my blog, I have zero tolerance.
I’ve literally never left a comment that wasn’t along the lines of “THIS WAS AMAZING” because why would you take the time to ruin someones day like by leaving a negative comment?
I don’t know if I’ve ever said this on here guys, but
I AM SO FUCKING GAME FOR USING THE SAME PLOT WITH MULTIPLE PARTNERS.
someone messaged me this morning after I sent them a message late last night about a plot on their wishlist, saying that we couldn’t play it out because “somebody messaged me about it first”. I find that VERY rude, just because there are SO MANY WAYS you can go about a plot!! It doesn’t matter if you have the same plot with two people or twenty people BECAUSE there are so many angles you can play it at!!
So I just thought I’d throw this out there, that if you see a plot on my wishlist FUCKIN MESSAGE ME. I literally do not care if I’m playing out the same plot with one person or ten people. Throw the fuckin plot at me guys. I want that plot from different angles. I do not care how many people I’m doing it with. THROW IT AT ME.
hi yes, your lame, broke, local trans male needs like $3 for something to eat. it’ll be $1.00 for tuna and $1 and some change for noodles. you can send the money here if you’re able to do so. thank you so much in advance. and if you can’t donate, please share this? i haven’t been able to eat all day and I’m starting to feel really nauseous.
A PSA
