“Can’t sleep either?” Bucky asked as he looked up from his cup of tea, a faint smile on his lips.
Steve slowly shook his head. “Since that last mission, it’s just been hard to sleep,” he admitted quietly, moving to sit beside his lover. “Plus, the bed was cold without you in it with me.”
“Yeah, was a rough one this last time.” Bucky sigbed as he took another sip and shrugged. “I don’t really sleep much as is. I didn’t mean to wake you, though, darlin’.”
“How are you feeling, little magician?” Loki asked, tilting his head. “You look as if you do not feel well.”
Juniper peered out the window, debating how she should approach how she felt. For the past few days, she has felt on edge, for no apparent reason. She didn’t feel in danger, she wasn’t homesick. She just felt – off.
His gaze was focused on her, and unrelenting. She didn’t know how to articulate her exact feelings, but she didn’t want to give him no answer. So instead she sighed.
“I don’t really know Loki. I just feel…. who knows.” she shrugs, watching the rain drops race against the glass of the window.
Slender fingers moved to brush through blonde waves. He hummed. “You must be sensing the pre-storm.” he mused. “It happens for a few days before a very big storm hits. The atmosphere changes and very few can feel it. Your empathy must give you a kind of antenna.” Loki explained, moving to sit across from her.
For as long as I can remember, I just wanted to do what was right. I guess I’m not quite sure what that is anymore. And I thought I could throw myself back in: follow orders, serve. It’s just not the same.
“Just continue doing what you’re doing.” Seth demanded, keeping his eyes glued shut. “I’ll be fine. I’m fine. I promise, Derek.” He breathed out. God, he felt so pathetic. After a few seconds he shook his head, resting his hands against Derek’s chest. “I- I can’t do this. Not yet. I’m sorry.” He whispered, tears forming in his eyes. “I”m sorry.”
Derek didn’t hesitate to pull away, moving to bring Seth to him and kissing his head. “Don’t be sorry.” he said quietly. “Never ever be sorry, Seth.” he assured, petting his boyfriend. “I’m not going anywhere.”
Juniper couldn’t quite grasp the entire concept that Tony has conceived. That’s why he is the mastermind and she was just someone in the foreground. Truthfully, she lived a simple life. Her adoptive father worked in an office, and her adoptive mother stayed home with them. Creativity and innovation wasn’t part of the norm. “Why do you need that? Isn’t what you have now state of the art?” She questioned, rather intrigued by Tony’s need for the best.
Tony shrugged. “I design the best. And when I find a small thing to fix, I fix it right away. Keeps everyone safer and makes it easier to go into a fight if I know everything is as good as it can be.” he explained. “I’m a bit of a perfectionsit, as I’m sure you’ve noticed by now.”
Steve leaned up and kissed Thor softly, brushing his fingers along the other’s cheek as he pressed closer to him, sliding one leg over Thor’s mid-section and sighing softly at the warmth of his lover’s body against his own.
Thor smiled and tucked his face against Steve’s neck, nipping lightly at his love’s neck. “I love you.” he murmured, one hand sliding along the leg draped over his torso. “I will love you forever.” he swore, pulling back to kiss Steve fully, passion behind it as he pressed gently against his lover’s hips with his own.
“Really? That’s so nice of her to let you do that.” That was something that reminded her of what she and her own mom never did. Sure, her mother had brushed her hair once or twice a long time ago, but never the other way around. “I should cut it, huh? But then, I’d look quite a bit different. Maybe on day if I’m feeling more adventerous.”
She nodded sympathetically and said, “So did I. Don’t get me wrong, I love my brothers, but it’d have been nice to have a girl around here to play with. You never got one, huh? It’s too bad your mom and Luke never had one. If you’d like, I could be your honorary sister.” Izzy already thought of Clary as her sister and she had a feeling she felt the same. Her lips curled up into a smile before she said, “I’m going to guess that Simon wasn’t up for brushing hair either. Boys are no fun with that stuff, even if they do sometimes have a bit of hair.”
“Mom always wanted me to be happy, it’s why for a long time, all I got was paint and drawing supplies for my birthday.” Clary laughed and shook her hair. “I love your hair, Izzy. I’m happy to help if ever want to do something new that doesn;t involve cutting it. I can’t cut hair.” she teased.
“You have three brothers, I doubt there was much girl time involved with them.” she said with a smile. “And while I do adore them, I can agree there’s a different environment between brothers and sisters versus sisters.” She laughed and gave a face as she shook her head. “God no, he hated anything like that.” she said. “But hey, we have each other now, and you’re already like a sister to me.” she agreed.
