Derek gently held Seth, leaning to breathe in Seth’s scent. There was a new, underlying scent that Derek recognized as newly changing wolf. It both comforted and scared him to cat h it on his boyfriend. “I know it’s not really me. What those drugs did to me…that’s what you’re scared of. And I’m so sorry that it happened.” He melted into the kiss, fighting the insginct to pull him closer. Seth’s next words finally made a laugh escape him and he leaned to kiss him more firmly. “Seth, I would willingly die if it protected you. I meant it when I said I couldn’t handle losing you.” He assured. “Here is where you need me, where you feel safe, so here is where I’m going to be.” He carefully lifted a hand, making sure to show Seth there were no claws before running his go hers through dark hair. “I love you, Seth Mitchell. You are my heart and soul. I would be nothing without you.”
“I don’t ever want you to have to willingly die. Not for me. Because I couldn’t handle losing you either. I really wouldn’t.” He snorted,
“Careful there, Derek. That sounds insanely close to a marriage
proposal.” He teased, humming contently at the fingers combing through
his hair. “I love you..” Seth smiled, kissing him again. “And you’re right. I do feel safe right here in your arms. Where I belong.”
Derek continued to comfort Seth through touch, knowing the change from human to wolf qould be helped by it as well as Seth’s natural reaction to it. He kissed back softly, gently wrapping his arms around Seth and kissing his temple. “Yeah? Would you say yes if it was?” He asked with a playfulness in his voice, trying to make Seth smile. Having hurt Seth hurt Derek deep in his soul, and he hated himself more than ever even as Seth told him to stay. “Then I’ll stay right here, help as best I can with your change.” He swore. “I’ll be at your side as long as you’ll have me.”
