Steve sighed softly as Tony’s fingers slid through his hair and he leaned in to kiss him softly. “And I will never regret bonding with you either, Tony,” he answered. “You mean everything to me. I love you so very much.”

Tony smiled at the words too much trouble. He’d had to convince Bucky for over three months that he had no intention of leaving Steve. Most of that was just looking out for his mate, keeping him warm and always letting Steve curl into him no matter where he was. Tony was happy when the big brunette had said he was fine with the proposal, and now Tony was one step closer to having everything he had ever wanted [and honestly hadn’t known he did]. He kissed back and smiled as he moved to pull Steve against him. “I love you, too. More than anything.”

Steve laughed softly. “I’m guessing it did. He wasn’t all that thrilled at the way our bonding happened. He didn’t blame you or anything; he was just worried that at some point we’d both have regrets or something. I’m glad he didn’t give you too much trouble over proposing to me.”

Tony nodded. “I’m well aware. But he knows as an alpha, we just know when we find our mate.” He moved to kiss Steve gently. “I know I didn’t know how to go about courting, but I’m glad I learned how. I’m glad I didn’t totally scare you away after that one incident.” He reached up to run his hand through blonde hair. “But I swear I will never regret being bonded with you.”

STeve looked down at the ring on his finger and then back up at Tony once more, smilng and nodding slowly. “I can’t wait to be your husband, Tony,” he said, moving to wrap his arms around the other man’s neck, kissing him softly as he did so.

Tony returned the kiss, holding Steve close. “I’m glad you said yes. It took me way too long to convince Barnes.” he teased, fingers trailing down his mate’s chest.

Steve looked up at him slowly. Tony had been very protective of him since their bonding. Steve licked his lips, maybe a little nervously. “What do you mean, Tony?” he asked softly.

Tony nuzzled at his mate. “I mean I’m going to take care of you. You and any pups we have.” he replied, pulling out a small box. “I want to make sure you have everything you could ever want, Steve. And I know we’re already bonded, but…” He looked nervous as he moved to kneel on one knee, holding up the box and opening it to reveal an intricately designed ring. “Will you marry me?”

Steve gasped softly at the beautiful ring inside the box and then he looked back at Tony. “You… you want to marry me,” he whispered… “Tony…. yes. Yes of course I’ll marry you. I just… never knew you wanted that from me…”

Tony watched his omega as Steve spoke, nodding in answer to the question. “Why would I not?” he asked, taking the ring out and placing it on Steve’s hand. “I love you, and I want the whole world to know that. I want you happy and taken care of in every way. Marriage is just a much more public ceremony to bonding.”
