“What happened to you?” He asked the redhead as takes a few steps closer to really look over Clary. “Do you want me to help with the few cuts you do have?” He offered know that she would more then likely say no.

Clary bit her lip, not really wanting to talk about it. “I tripped.” she half-lied, looking away. “I’ve had worse, Magnus, I’ll be fine, I promise.” Right now she just needed to breathe after dealing with a fair amount of demons trying to attack the city. “How about some tea?”

“Are you really, though?” Luke crouched beside Clary’s seat, gaze full of concern. “Clary, you’ve been missing for months. T-they thought you were dead. How can you possibly just show up perfectly fine after so long?”

Clary tried to keep the memories to herself, and she suddenly understood why Jace trained so often. “I just…I need people to stop asking me questions, Luke.” she replied, but her vision blurred as she watched him. “I don’t know how I got back and I don’t care. I just want people to be happy I’m home.”

“Really? That’s so nice of her to let you do that.” That was something that reminded her of what she and her own mom never did. Sure, her mother had brushed her hair once or twice a long time ago, but never the other way around. “I should cut it, huh? But then, I’d look quite a bit different. Maybe on day if I’m feeling more adventerous.”

She nodded sympathetically and said, “So did I. Don’t get me wrong, I love my brothers, but it’d have been nice to have a girl around here to play with. You never got one, huh? It’s too bad your mom and Luke never had one. If you’d like, I could be your honorary sister.” Izzy already thought of Clary as her sister and she had a feeling she felt the same. Her lips curled up into a smile before she said, “I’m going to guess that Simon wasn’t up for brushing hair either. Boys are no fun with that stuff, even if they do sometimes have a bit of hair.”

“Mom always wanted me to be happy, it’s why for a long time, all I got was paint and drawing supplies for my birthday.” Clary laughed and shook her hair. “I love your hair, Izzy. I’m happy to help if ever want to do something new that doesn;t involve cutting it. I can’t cut hair.” she teased.

“You have three brothers, I doubt there was much girl time involved with them.” she said with a smile. “And while I do adore them, I can agree there’s a different environment between brothers and sisters versus sisters.” She laughed and gave a face as she shook her head. “God no, he hated anything like that.” she said. “But hey, we have each other now, and you’re already like a sister to me.” she agreed.
