“You think so?” she looked to him, partly unsure if this was just an attempt to give her an answer, the other part hopeful that he was right. “I’ve never liked storms very much.”

Juniper shrugs looking back out the window. The sea was washing over, the tides rolling in. Clearly Loki had picked up on her demeanor, noticed how she felt out of place. She couldn’t make up her mind, rather she was beside herself. The only thing grounding her was Loki’s presence. “Promise me you will keep me safe from the storm?”

Loki nodded, moving to sit beside her. “I’ve loved storms since I was very young. I can sense the storm brewing as well.” He explained, leaning to kiss her temple. Thor had kept her safe while he had healed and being brought back had immediately brought him to her side. “Of course I will, My Queen.” He promised, moving to pull her into his lap to hold her. “You are forever safe with me.”

Juniper couldn’t hold back the blush that was creeping up on her cheeks. Typically her and Steve snuck around, hiding their connection from everyone else. The fact that they had been caught in the action was enough to cause her embarrassment. Both her and Steve were rather reserved people. Her hand daintily covers her mouth as a gasp escapes her lips.

“You saw us?” she chuckles. “What exactly did you… see?”

Her and Steve had had plenty of encounters in different hallways when no one was around. Generally they made sure that the majority of people were away on a mission or out for the night before they were all ‘lovey-dovey’ with each other outside of their quarters.

Bucky laughed a little. “You’re redder than Steve was when I told him.” He mused, crossing his arms as he leaned back in his chair. “I saw enough to know I didn’t need to interrupt.” He reached for his cup, taking a slow drink before setting it down. “Nothing serious, mostly little whispers and kisses.” He promised. “I know Steve doesn’t usually want his private life out in the open, so I kept my mouth shut to everyone but you two.”

Juniper leans into his touch as his hand threads itself through her icy blonde hair. “It’s much more enticing to be at the will of another as powerful as yourself.” Loki sure did have a way with words. His silver tongue has a tendency to entice others, wrapping them right around his finger, but she didn’t mind.

“You give me too much credit.” She hums, then feeling her head draw back from him tugging her hair slightly. Her gaze forced to meet his. She admires the glint in his eyes, feeling completely possessed, and loving every minute of it.

Loki hummed when she moved as he urged, knowing she was powerful enough to feel as he felt. “Oh, my little magician.” he purred, leaning to tug at her shirt slowly. “You have a great deal of power you don’t know about. Empathy can grow and be taught to do many things. But perhaps a lesson on magic later.” he mused, taking a step back to guide her closer to the bed. “But I will not take anything without your permission, my dearest.”

Juniper gently placed herself down next to Thor. As she did so, her empathetic powers amped up, feeling the deep grief that Thor was experiencing. It ached in her chest, like a constant burn that just grew, brewing under the surface. “I am very sorry your majesty. I know how it feel to lose someone you love. I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone.”

She admired his complexion as he gazed up at the stars, as if his brother along with the rest of the fallen were guarding over him. Juniper knew very little of the norse beliefs, but she did recognize that Thor was confiding in the sky. “I will pray for their rest too then. As for strength, I am certain you will lead us to victory.”

Then she turned to muse at the stars, admiring the exquisite beauty of the starts glinting up against the ebony sky. They danced together in patterns, creating images, telling stories. “That constellation over there, do you know what it is?”

Thor let her join him, but his power was brewing a storm from the east, drawing it closer as he let his grief finally weigh on his heart. As she spoke he was distracted, moving to look at where she motioned. He smiled fondly, nodding. He explained it to her, the storm getting closer still as the wind picked up and lightning flashed through the clouds. “We should go inside, little one.” he urged. “My grief breeds stormy weather and I do not wish for my brother’s favored to be caught in this weather.” he moved to stand and offer his hand. “You will safe inside, and you need rest.”

Juniper smiled contently as Steve settled into the covers. This was the first time she had actually seen him look comfortable. His position allowed a perfect spot for her to join him, and she timidly nestled in next to him, head resting on his chest. “Are you gonna sing to me?”

“If you would like.” She said shyly. Singing was something that was something dear to her. Rarely did she let someone hear her sing, yet in this moment, it felt like exactly what Steve needed. “Love of my life can’t you see? Bring it back, bring it back. Don’t take it away from me because you don’t know what it means to me.” she sang the first song that came to mind, a song her mother sang all the time. As she sang, her eyes slipped shut and her hand splayed over his chest rising and falling.

Steve let himself listen, closing his eyes after the stress of the day. It was nice to hear someone sing. It brought back memories of Bucky, and even though he was upset, he relaxed because he could never resist a good song. He hummed appreciatively as she finished, smiling an reaching to run his hand through her hair. “Thank you, June.” he murmured, leanign to kiss her forehead. “Do you need to call your sister?”

“How are you feeling, little magician?” Loki asked, tilting his head. “You look as if you do not feel well.”

Juniper peered out the window, debating how she should approach how she felt. For the past few days, she has felt on edge, for no apparent reason. She didn’t feel in danger, she wasn’t homesick. She just felt – off.

His gaze was focused on her, and unrelenting. She didn’t know how to articulate her exact feelings, but she didn’t want to give him no answer. So instead she sighed.

“I don’t really know Loki. I just feel…. who knows.” she shrugs, watching the rain drops race against the glass of the window.

Slender fingers moved to brush through blonde waves. He hummed. “You must be sensing the pre-storm.” he mused. “It happens for a few days before a very big storm hits. The atmosphere changes and very few can feel it. Your empathy must give you a kind of antenna.” Loki explained, moving to sit across from her.

Juniper puckered her lips as she looked back at the new guy running around here. She had met him just moments ago, but she recognized the name immediately. Bucky Barnes. Juniper has spent many late nights having conversations about this man with Steve.

“Me?” she played innocent.

She and Steve haven’t really defined what their relationship was, despite their few stolen kisses. So Bucky’s little statement served as verification of Juniper’s suspicions. Steve was interested.

“What makes you say that?” She steps closer, prying for a further answer.

Bucky gave a little smile. “Because Steve is my best friend and I know him.” Maybe he didn’t remember every tiny thing, but he remembered enough that he knew Steve. “I also happened to accidentally run into you two in the hall the other day and had to turn around and go the long way around.” he teased.

“How did you know?” he asked her, quite interested in the way she was able to decipher his prior engagements. “My little vixen.”

Her head lulled back in pleasure as he returned the favor, lips gliding over her alabaster skin carefully, deliberately. Her grey eyes fluttered shut as she conjured up a breathy response. “I was given the gift of.. empathy.” The more they connected, the more she could understand about him. She felt the jealousy running through him, and the amount of untamed power he could unleash at any second. “Vixen” she hummed, “I quite like the sound of that.”

She found herself clinging to his outer garments, trying to diminish any space remaining between them. It felt good to get her secret off of her chest, to let him finally see that she was more powerful that he originally thought. “Once a king or a king to be, always a king.”

Loki hummed at her reaction. OF course in his long life he’d had many lovers, but never had lain with a Midgardian, though he didn’t really know why. It had never occurred to him that he could. he hummed, green eyes closing as he listened to her, some part of him slightly annoyed that she was still able to form such sentences. “Empathy? Oh, little one, I can teach you how to mature that power.” he promised, smirking. “I can call you Vixen anytime you want, my little one.” he promised, biting down just slightly over the juncture of her neck and shoulder.

“A king of a desolate, frozen land is not something I prefer. I’d much rather have the love of a Queen.” he drew back enough to run his fingers through blonde hair. “It’s much more enticing to be at the will of anothr as powerful as yourself.” he mused.
