Sebastian shook his head as he listened. He hated this learning new words bullshit. But it wasn’t like he had much choice; and since he was one of few his owner had who could turn invisible, the hellhound could do little but try and force the words into his memory. He paused as he heard the door to his chamber open, looking up from the decently comfortable bed to see the girl from the fight – the other hellhound that their owners had decided to let them be mates. “Miss mate.” he said with a little smirk, setting the book to the side to watch her.
“How are you feeling, Toni?” Steve asked his wife, looking up from his book where he was perched next to her on their bed. One hand reached to run through her hair. “Morning sickness over for now?”
“This one is hard to crack. I’m starting to think I should start more invasive measures.” Xavier mused as he rolled his knice between his fingers. The demon had been playing nice with this one – they needed the guy alive after all, boss’ orders – but he was stubborn and quickly Xav was getting impatient for the knowledge they were after. “Should we mayyyyybe just revive him after? I’m missing time with my mate for this jackass.”
She stared at him, eyes wide, hand going to the collar on her neck, anchoring herself to what was happening. “Yes!”
Matt smiled as he pulled the little rose gold band out to put it on her finger before standing to kiss her. “I love you, so much.” he murmured. “I’ll be a good husband, a good father to Melody.” Hands moved to run through her hair, watching her as he brushed his thumb over Julie’s cheek.
“Can’t be both?” Bucky drawled, watching Loki with a chuckle. “Any room for me over there?”
Loki gave a little smile, opening his arms. “There’s always room for my beautiful warrior.” he mused. He avoided using the word soldier when he referred to Bucky, knowing it was related to a dark time in his boyfriend’s long life. “As much as I’m glad your dog enjoys my company, I don’t come over to see him.” he promised.
